Customer care
This is the first job and the most important one. A plant a customer keeps alive is a customer who comes back. Everything a customer needs to look after the plant they bought from you is included, and it is not capped on the free plan.
See the consumer appWhat the customer gets on a plant you handed off
When a customer claims a plant, it lands in their collection with the care template you set. From there they get:
- Watering reminders on the interval from your template, shifted for their city, country, and current season, including the flipped seasons of the southern hemisphere.
- Photo health checks: they photograph a leaf or stem that looks wrong and get a plain assessment of the likely problem and what to do, or a request for a clearer photo when the image is not enough to be sure.
- An AI care assistant they can ask questions in plain language, tied to the specific plant and its history rather than a generic species sheet.
- A photo timeline so they can see the plant change over weeks and months.
The AI is built to say when it is not sure
Identification and health checks run on AI image analysis. It is only useful if a customer can act on the result, so the model is built to return an honest "I am not certain" on a blurry photo or an unusual species instead of a confident guess. A wrong diagnosis a customer acts on is worse than no diagnosis. That standard is the reason the consumer app has a genuinely free tier rather than a trial: the care has to actually work for the customer for the nursery relationship to mean anything.
Care activity feeds your side
When a customer logs a watering, reports a condition, or runs a health check, that activity attaches to the plant and shows up on their customer record and the plant's Care Trail. You are not watching customers, but if a warranty claim comes in later, the record of what they did is already there.
Not capped on Basic
The plan limits on Basic are about volume and warranty depth, not about the care experience. Reminders, health checks, the AI assistant, and the full Care Trail on every claimed plant are included on both plans. A nursery on the free plan hands off the same customer experience a nursery on Growth does.
The one nuance: a customer's own Plantorbia account has its own free-tier limits for personal use across all their plants. Plants claimed from a nursery draw on a separate diagnosis allowance so that a customer who has used up their personal quota can still run a health check on a plant you sold them.
